Steven Hood

Project Manager, IISD-ELA

Steven Hood is a Project Manager with IISD Experimental Lakes Area (IISD-ELA). 

He is based in Edmonton, Alberta. At IISD-ELA, Steven is responsible for managing all research projects in collaboration with the science team, helping ensure that groundbreaking freshwater studies run smoothly from planning through to final outcomes. Driven by a commitment to supporting environmental solutions, he enjoys helping to advance IISD-ELA’s work and its impact on climate and conservation. 

He has extensive experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives that blend strategic planning, operational efficiency, and collaborative problem-solving. At the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, he oversaw large-scale projects from concept to completion, guiding cross-functional teams, streamlining workflows, and embedding inclusive, people-centred approaches. 

Steven is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds credentials in project leadership, business intelligence, and data management from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
